Blind cat climbs building's fire escape every day to get food from elderly resident, until new neighbor befriend him and set out to his rescue: ‘He won't ever sleep outside again’

A blinded cat searches for kindness in the dark, until he comes across a group of people ready to fight for him to find his light back.

Gus Gus didn't know a different life from the one he created for himself on the streets of NYC. Every day, despite not being able to see properly, he would climb up a tall fire escape to get food from a kind elderly neighbor, then climb back down and fend for himself in front of the other street cats. His life was not easy, but he made it work.

One day, a new neighbor moved into the block, and it didn't take long before she noticed Gus Gus and his incredible resilience. She immediately set out to help him, starting with giving him food on the level group so he won't have to climb the fire escape, and making him a shelter for cold and rainy days.

While that was enough to change Gus Gus's life for the better, the new neighbor was not done. She wanted to see Gus Gus where he truly belonged: out of the streets and in a new home.
